Haraka
1970 Plymouth B-body Satellite Roadrunner GTX
Unveiled at SEMA 2025, the 1970 Plymouth Road Runner known as "Haraka" (Swahili for "speed") is a masterclass in "lifestyle" modifications by Steve Strope and his team at Pure Vision Design. Draped in a custom PPG "Inkwell Violet" paint—a sophisticated nod to Mopar’s iconic Plum Crazy—the build blends brute muscle with the elegance of high-end horology and menswear. Under the hood, a period-correct 440 V8 has been stroked to 494 cubic inches and modernized with MoTeC EFI, while the chassis features a cutting-edge Heidts Pro-G independent front and rear suspension. The interior is a true design showcase, featuring 18-way Porsche Panamera seats upholstered in Italian leather with a laser-printed Victorian floral pattern inspired by Robert Graham dress shirts. This fashion-forward theme extends to the dashboard, which utilizes a modified 1966 Plymouth Fury dash housing a custom, watch-inspired instrument cluster that mirrors the intricate face of a Christopher Ward luxury timepiece.
AWARDS
TMI Products TRIM Awards (2025): The car was a featured contender and winner in the prestigious TRIM Awards at SEMA, which recognizes the best interior craftsmanship in the custom car world. This was largely due to its unique "high-fashion" interior featuring Robert Graham-inspired floral patterns and Christopher Ward watch-inspired textures.
